During his stay he became romantically involved with Princess Venus. Nephrite who also had a romantic relationship with Venus became jealous and vowed to remove his rival. Nephrite tricked Mysterio into a fake meeting with Venus on the dark side of the moon, there Nephrite confronted him and a short battle took place, which Nephrite won.
