Chapter 4: The Dark Side
Inside a Ruined fortress on the dark side of the Moon, Enmity, and Wicked Lady exit a portal into a dark and dank chamber. Upon raising his hand Enmity causes the torches in the wall sconces to ignite. The light reveals a large chamber, possibly a former throne room of sorts, but long neglected and in ruin. The only thing in the chamber that might hint on its former glory is the raised dais at the end with an old, but finely decorated throne at the top of it. Enmity strides up to the throne and takes a seat.
So why have we come here my Lord? Wicked Lady inquires. Enmity enjoying the feeling of sitting on the throne ponders. I am not quite sure, I feel a presence here, a presence that might help us in exacting our vengeance.
Enmity then rises and walks to one side of the chamber which has a mural engraved in the wall. The engraving is that of a screaming man. Enmity places his hand to the mural. Yes, it is here. Enmity says with satisfaction. A flash comes from the wall, then suddenly the screaming man in the mural flies from the wall, and tumbles into the chamber as flesh and blood.
Nephrite!! The man screams. Enmity and Wicked Lady look on in confusion at the dazed man. The man, once he regains his composure turns to Enmity. Who are you? Agents of Serenity sent here to finish what Nephrite started? He asked as he regained his breath. No, Enmity replied. As a matter of fact, if Serenity was the one who imprisoned you here, we have a common goal I think. I to was imprisoned by her as well.
Serenity did not imprison me personally. The man confesses. She had one of the Generals from Earth do it, his name was Nephrite, but I know she was behind it. How did you get to be imprisoned here? Enmity asked. I was tricked here by a fake message to meet a woman who I loved. He looked sad as the pain of the treachery came flooding back. Instead of her I was met by Nephrite. He and I battled, but he managed to trap me here. He then thinks of this lost love. Venus he thinks, why did you not come for me? Anger wells within him. Serenity will pay for this injustice I swear it!
Enmity steps forward and places his hand on the Man's shoulder. Like you I wish to seek vengeance against Serenity, but I'm afraid that is impossible. She is long dead, but her family line still lives on. Enmity then motions to Wicked Lady.
So who might the two of you be? Asks the man. Enmity decides to start the introductions. Allow me to introduce you to Wicked Lady, once know as Princess Serenity, daughter of Neo Queen Serenity, and granddaughter of Queen Serenity. But she has seen the error of their ways and has joined us in our glorious cause.
I am Lord Enmity, I am in a way, the son of Sailor Saturn. But I do not follow in their weak ways. The man looks at Enmity and Wicked Lady, and nods. I am called Mysterio, Lord of Illusion. He looks at Wicked Lady puzzled. You are Princess Serenity? Wicked Lady smiles evilly. I was called that in my former miserable life, but thanks to way I was treated by them I shed my former life. I have seen the way I was treated by those whom pretended to love me. Enmity's mission is now mine as well.
So you see we both have a common enemy, Enmity breaks in. Join us Mysterio, and together we will punish those who wronged us. Mysterio thinks on this for a moment, the decides. All right, I will join you, but on one condition. Enmity looks at Mysterio with an annoyed look. And that is? If we come across Princess Venus, no harm will befall her. I will deal with her myself. Enmity bows his head. As you wish, then its agreed then, we will fight together. They shook hands to bind their agreement with Wicked Lady placing her hand on top of their clasped hands.
I will need your assistance on the next phase of my plan. And that would be? Mysterio asked, not certain what his first role would be. Well Turning Chibi Usa into her present form was my first phase, the Sailor Senshi will be reluctant to attack their beloved Princess. Enmity chuckles at the thought of the senshi's weakness. That will be to our advantage. The second phase, which your powers will be useful my new friend is to recruit some of the younger Sailor Senshi to our cause. I have felt stirrings in some of them on Earth. The third phase will be to bring my dear sister to our side. Once all of these are accomplished we should be able to crush the defenders of the new Silver Millennium with ease.
Wicked Lady decides to add to the conversation. If all goes according to your plan my Lord, but we must have information on what the Senshi are up to. Enmity nodded. Agreed! That is another reason we are here. I have detected another presence here as well. That presence might be as useful as our new friend Mysterio here.
Enmity turns and heads for a flight of stairs at the far end of the room that descend into a lower chambers. Mysterio and Wicked Lady follow with curiosity. Enmity approaches yet another mural located at the back of the stairs, this one has a depiction of a dragon upon it. As before Enmity repeats the ritual that he used to release Mysterio from his prison. With a flash a small dragon of crimson red with a black mane running down his spine about three feet in length leaps from the mural.
AS the dragon is released he feels a strong mental link establish between him and this dragon. So it was you who has been calling to me since I arrived here on the moon. The small dragon lands and responds. Yes, my name is Malice and I am grateful for you releasing me. Enmity, curious on how the dragon got here asks another question. Did a man named Nephrite also imprison you here? Enmity asked. No, replied Malice. I was imprisoned here when the warriors of the Silver Millennium defeated my master who resided here. I have special abilities that served him well. I now offer them to you now in payment for my freedom.
Enmity introduces himself and the others to Malice. He then proceeds to tell Malice and Mysterio the tale of his, and his sisters own imprisonment at the hands of the Moon Kingdom. Enmity then looks to Malice. Would you be able to sneak into the Crystal Palace my new friend? Malice bows his head. Of course Lord Enmity, I have the ability to become invisible at will. Very good. Enmity says. Go now to the Crystal Palace, find out what our enemies are up to, and report back to me. Malice bows her head. As you command my Lord. Malice flies toward an open window and vanishes into thin air.
Enmity then turns to the others, a gleam in his eyes. Soon, very soon we will know what our enemy's next move is, then we can strike!.
