Chapter 11: Reunited
In the Council Room all the Senshi are gathered together, and catching up on what has happened. Everybody is giving Haruka, and Rei their sympathies. King Endymion, Neo Queen Serenity, Chenoa, and Peace enter the room and take their places at the council table. Chenoa is still quite tired and sore. She cautiously sits down next to King Endymion with Peace at her side. King Endymion decides to start the meeting. Greetings, May we all take a seat now? We must get to work on a plan to bring our missing girls back.
Neo Queen Serenity speaks next. Let us start with what has happened most recently, Haruka? Haruka stands up, and addresses the council. My Queen, King, and Council members. Yesterday after I had found out about Samantha being abducted I went out to find something that could possibly lead us to our enemy. Chenoa, and Peace followed me. As we neared some ruins on the dark side of the moon, Chenoa was hit with some sort of headache. When this happened I noticed some people near the ruins. They apparently saw us and tried to distract us with a beautiful illusion of a garden. Then out of the blue a blast of energy came at me that Chenoa blocked. Who ever it was that attacked just left or disappeared because it was the only attack. To me that was fairly odd, but Peace and I brought Chenoa back to get medical treatment. Michiru and Setsuna have the coordinates and have investigated the area on the scan.
Is there anything else we ought to know about this? Endymion asks. Chenoa slowly repositions herself in her chair very cautiously, then speaks. My brother receives the same wounds and injuries I do. Since we share the same soul we share everything. He is in the same physical shape I am. Haruka looks at Chenoa bewildered. So you are telling us his followers are seeing him in as bad a shape as we are seeing you right now? Yes, Chenoa answers. Neither of us can fight right now. We are both weakened, and most likely it was Enmity that attacked us. I just can’t figure out that illusion. I know of only one that has the powers to do that.
Venus remembers the daydream she had the night before, and wonders if Mysterio could be real. If it truly was a memory from her past. Venus decides to fill in everyone on what she knows, and stands to inform them. My Queen, King. I may know who has the power to create illusions. I had a memory or dream yesterday when I was still on earth. I knew of a Mysterio in the time of the Silver Millennium. Could it be possible he has returned? I suppose it could be possible, answers Neo Queen Serenity. Why would he fight against the Moon Kingdom though? Venus, do you remember how or why he left all those years ago?
Venus thinks for a few moments. I can’t remember. Up until yesterday I didn’t even remember him. I find that odd, the feelings I have for him now are strong. Could he have been a close friend or perhaps my true love? Venus goes into deep thought. Now she doesn’t know if Mysterio is real or just a past memory. King Endymion speaks breaking the silence. Okay, So we know we maybe up against more than just this Lord Enmity, and the young Senshi he has kidnapped. We need to assign everybody to teams. That way each team can have a goal of what they need to accomplish. Neo-Queen Serenity as if on cue speaks where her husband left off. The Rescue team that will go after the missing senshi will be Chenoa, Haruka, Motoki, and Rei. I will also assign Artemis to them. King Endymion stands. I will be on that team too. I will bring our daughter back.
The Queen is silent for a moment, wishing Endy had not volunteered, but instead stayed here with her. The Defensive team that will stay here and keep up on new developments will be Minako, Ami, Makoto, Michiru, Setsuna, and Hotaru. The young Senshi will stay here too so that we can keep track of them, and make it a lot harder for Enmity to take any more of them. Luna, Artemis, and Diana come into the council chamber followed by servants who bring Saturn Tea and cookies. King Endymion passes some to Chenoa and encourages her to drink the tea. As she does she notices that her strength is returning. Her side still hurts where she took the brunt of the blast, but she feels as if her strength is returning.
Chenoa sits up, a little more comfortable, and not in as much pain, thanks to the healing properties of the tea. My King, may I ask what this is I am drinking? It is called Saturn Tea. Endymion replies. And from the look of you, it seems to be working. Endymion Looks at Chenoa with a little glimmer in his eye, and smiles. At the distaste of everybody being very accepting of this Chenoa person Motoki stands up and slams his fist on the table. Doesn’t anybody think it’s a little odd she is nearby when the girls are abducted? She was in the room next door when Samantha was taken and she did nothing!
Makoto stands to protest that her husband is taking such a stand on this issue. Motoki! She was helping protect your daughters from Wicked Lady. You know, sometimes I think you treat Samantha better than your own daughters! I know it’s a great tragedy that she was abducted, but get a grip! Neo Queen Serenity stands, hearing enough dissension she decides to stop it. Enough! Its not enough that you are arguing about your differences while our young senshi are in the hands of Enmity. Will you quit arguing and get it together! I am sick of this, we are a family. You will get along and not accuse anybody of anything unless you have proof. Am I understood?
The Council Members are quiet for a few moments then they answer in unison, yes my Queen. Neo Queen Serenity nods, then decides to dismiss the council and send out the teams. As everyone begins to leave she turns to Chenoa. Would you mind staying Chenoa? I would like to talk to you in private. Chenoa nods, of course my Queen. She takes the vacant seat next to the Queen. Neo Queen Serenity then turns to Diana and asks her to get Chenoa some more tea. As Diana leaves for the tea, the Queen is not sure how to start. Chenoa see's that the Queen seems troubled and decides to see if she can be of help. My Queen? Is there a problem?
Neo Queen Serenity smiles. I know even with the healing properties of the tea you are still in some pain. Those ribs will take awhile to heal, but seeing you like this, and knowing that Enmity and you have a symbiotic relationship, we know that he is in bad shape as well. The Queen finally gets the nerve to ask the question she had been dreading to ask. Chenoa, are you okay with this? Fighting against your brother and all? Surely you must wonder yourself if this is the right path for you. Chenoa, startled by this question, slowly answers. My Queen, I know that your mother was not fully responsible for my brother and I being imprisoned, Chenoa's head drops to hide her hidden pain as she finishes. And for me losing the love I had back then.
So, your memory is coming back then? The Queen stands to take her leave of Chenoa. I understand how you must feel. I will leave you to let you rest and think. I do want you to think about what is happening, and I want you to know that this may end in your death if we can not defeat Enmity any other way. Chenoa looks up with a determined look on her face. My Queen, I know that, and I am fully prepared for that if it comes to that. Neo Queen Serenity leaves the room, and Chenoa rises and heads out the side doors to the Palace Gardens. She recognizes a familiar presence once she has gotten a distance from the Palace. Joshua? Is that you? A man dressed in crimson steps out of the bushes. Yeah. Ouch. DAMN! Why did you have to jump in front of that Senshi? Joshua holds his side in obvious pain.
You would have killed her with that blast Josh. Even though you are my brother, and I love you dearly you are in the wrong. Don’t you remember what happened right before we were imprisoned? Joshua grits his teeth. How can I forget? The way Queen Serenity joyfully imprisoned us? Chenoa walks over to Josh and takes his hands. They sit down and it’s as if they become one in their thoughts. Thankfully Peace taught Chenoa how to block some thoughts from being shared. She shares all her memories with Joshua so that they both know what happened. No!! I don’t believe it! Joshua cries out as he reviews Chenoa's memories. She didn’t try to help us! She hated us!
Josh, Serenity wanted to help us. She wanted The Ancient One to train us so we could be of help to the Moon Kingdom. She wanted us to stay in the Kingdom. Then explain Urami and Kodia. Where are they? Why does nobody know nothing about them? Chenoa tightens her grip on Joshua's hands. Trust me I so want to know the answer to that. My heart aches to see Kodia once again. He was my best friend. Peace walks up towards the two siblings. He then hears they are talking about Kodia, so he sneaks up behind some bushes to hear what they are saying. Joshua thinks back to happier days. Urami was so fun! She was of a similar spirit and we would have some great pranks on the others. He laughs out loud, probably the first time he has laughed in joy for a long time.
SNAP! Joshua jumps up at hearing the sound. What was that?!? As the siblings turn to see who it is they are shocked.
